Project Description
Over the past few years I have really gotten into the craft beer scene and turned into somewhat of a beer nerd, so this particular project has been a lot of fun to dive into! In the Summer of 2019, Tailout Brewing was the first ever craft brewery to open its doors in Castlegar, BC. This hub of outdoor adventure is located in the Selkirk Mountains of Southern BC where the Kootenay and Columbia Rivers meet, making it the perfect location for a group of outdoor enthusiasts looking to venture into the world of craft beer.
The design process started with the development of a logo and brand identity that would act as the jumping off point for the rest of the project. The stylized fish in the final logo stems from the founding members' love of fishing and takes its inspiration from the natural surroundings of the brewery itself as well as outfitting brands such as Patagonia. With branding and inspiration firmly in place, the design of the website grew from there and is still evolving. The contrasting use of crisp vector graphics alongside stylized and textured nature photography makes navigating the site a unique experience with a wild, untamed twist.
As the brewery has grown and become more well established, I've also had the unique opportunity to design the label artwork for their ever-changing lineup of creatively crafted brews.
