Wheel Works Web Design

Nathan Labrecque Creative Web Icon Arrow

Project Description

This project for Wheel Works Edmonton involved the complete redesign of their existing site, which is something I always enjoy. There's something refreshing and quite fulfilling about taking an old, outdated website and breathing new life into it. I liken it to taking an old, dented up rim and completely refinishing and repairing it so that it not only looks great on its own, but enhances the look of the vehicle it belongs to...just as a website serves to enhance the company it represents!

The revitalized site includes modern features such as a fixed top navigation bar, convenient scroll anchors to jump around the site with ease, custom buttons with fluid hover effects, and a fully responsive layout.

The black, red, and white colour scheme provides great contrast and helps the various custom icons, buttons and links really pop and provides an engaging user experience. Parallax scrolling effects add a touch of modern elegance and the content is kept short and sweet, with quality photos of their work doing most of the talking.

There's No Progress Without Process

This wireframe represents one of the initial layout ideas for the homepage. A simple, fullwidth style gives the content room to breathe and looks great on all screen sizes.

Here is the same homepage layout as a full colour mockup in the early design phase of this project. The final design of the site ended up being mostly based on this design, with a few additions from the second mockup version.

This is the preliminary wireframe layout for the second version of the Homepage. Similar to the first with some minor rearranging and re-thinking of the content flow and organization.

Here is the second Homepage design in all of its mocked-up glory. The Services icon section was the only part of this one that made the final cut, and I must say the finished product sure catches your attention!
